A spokesperson for the European Commission announced on Monday that the timeline for Spanish bank bailouts will be as follows: - publication on Friday 28 September of an independent audit on each bank's capital needs; - analysis of the audit by the European Commission in October; - and first bailout from the European Stability Mechanism in November 2012.
