21/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - Space cooperation agreement with China. An EU-China space technology cooperation agreement was signed at the EU-China Summit in Brussels on 20 September (see EUROPE 10693) in order to improve compatibility and interoperability in satellite navigation systems, Galileo (for the EU) and Beidou (for China) to ensure better service for users around the world. Europe and China laid the foundations for space cooperation in August this year in space technology cooperation talks between the European Space Agency and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, which deals with earth sciences and observation, global satellite navigation services, space exploration and the development of space technology.
