Brussels, 23/08/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 21 August, Serbia and Kosovo again accused each other of not applying all the provisions of the agreements sealed during EU-conducted dialogue.
Kosovar Prime Minister Hashim Thaci notes that Belgrade has still not signed the protocol on managing the border between Serbia and Kosovo and that Serbia refuses to implement an agreement on regional cooperation. “The credibility of this technical dialogue is at stake and we call upon Serbia to deliver what we have agreed to during this process”, Thaci explained. His Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic, asserted for his part that the “new Serbian authorities intend to implement all the agreements reached so far, insisting at the same time that Pristina must do so as well”. Dacic also said that, although technical talks under EU aegis are due to continue, they cannot be considered as a cure-all solution. He called for high level talks on all outstanding issues.
A report from the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, on Kosovo underlines that the different interpretations by Belgrade and Pristina on the cooperation agreement have led to problems in several regional meetings. (CG/transl.jl)
