Brussels, 11/07/2012 (Agence Europe) - Sino-European defence and security cooperation will include a dialogue, training exchanges and a high level seminar in 2013.
Meeting on the sidelines of the third session of the EU/China strategic dialogue in Beijing on Monday 9 July, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton and Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie discussed ways of improving bilateral cooperation on defence and security, including crisis management and tackling piracy. Ashton and Liang agreed to hold a regular EU/China dialogue on defence and security, training exchanges and the organisation of a high-level seminar in 2013, which will involve experts, diplomats, the military and academics.
