Brussels, 27/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - At the conference on the digital agenda last week, the European Commission handed out the “e-Inclusion Awards” which reward citizens and organisations developing digital technologies to fight exclusion. The finalists in both categories (“I am Part of IT” and “Be Part of IT”) had the opportunity to present their projects. Among the initiatives rewarded were the Belgian initiative WAI-NOT, which aims to make the internet accessible to people with literacy problems by means of a set of pictogrammes, and the British project Storybook Dads, which allows fathers serving prison sentences to record stories for their children on CD or DVD.
