Brussels, 15/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - During her meeting with new Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Thursday 14 June, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton said that, as soon as a government is formed and “while there is window of opportunity, we need to move the process (discussion with Kosovo) forward, and to be ready to tackle difficult issues”. Ashton made clear that “full cooperation and freedom of movements for EULEX remain key for us”. She said she had been reassured to hear Nikolic pledge that all the agreements reached so far in the EU facilitated dialogue with Pristina would be fully implemented.
The high representative emphasised “the importance of regional cooperation and reconciliation”, pointing out that “there is no place in today's world for the rhetoric from the past”. (CG/transl.rt)
