€13.5 million for maternal health in Zimbabwe

Brussels, 24/04/2012 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has decided to allocate €13.5 million to support Zimbabwe's Health Transition Fund (HTF). This funding mechanism, which pools contributions from several donors, supports the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare (MoHCW) in Zimbabwe. The decision was announced on Tuesday 24 April by the European Commission and will help towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG 5 is to reduce the maternal mortality rate by three quarters...
