Brussels, 27/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 28 March, the European Commission may possibly announce a fine against the Czech company J&T Investment Advisors and its energy subsidiary, Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holdingand (EPH, which has since become EP InvestmentAdvisors). The fine involves a possible case of obstruction against a Commission investigation and the company's refusal to allow an inspection to be carried out at its premises (Regulation1/2003). During the inspection carried out in November 2009 by the Commission and the Czech anti-monopoly office at the premises of EPH, as part of an anti-trust investigation, the company refused to block employees' access to e-mails subject to investigation and refused inspectors access to encrypted e-mails. The company also redirected incoming e-mails. The Commission began a procedure for obstructing its enquiry in May 2010. The fine could reach a figure of 1% of the two companies' global turnover.
