Brussels, 13/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - Sanctions adopted by the EU Council of Ministers against a third country cannot apply to natural persons solely on the grounds of their family connection with persons associated with the leaders of that country. The EU Court of Justice therefore cancels the European regulation freezing the funds of Pye Phyo Tay Za, in so far as the regulation concerns him, according to a ruling pronounced on Tuesday 13 March (Case C-376/10P).
