Brussels, 23/02/2012 (Agence Europe) - The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) has begun a two-year project on gender training. The project will gather information on gender training in all 27 EU member states and Croatia, which is soon to join the EU. The aim of the EIGE initiative is to support the European Union's political strategy on an integrated approach to gender equality. Training is a key tool in achieving this aim, in particular through sharing best practice. For this reason, the project will gather information on the activities, players and resources related to gender training. Best practice will be identified and discussion fostered on quality standards for gender training. The project also aims to support access by policy makers to high quality instruments in gender training. The results of the study will assist EIGE in developing an online database of trainers, resources and programmes on gender training at EU and member state levels. (MD/transl.rt)
