Brussels, 27/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - Bernardino Leon, EU Special Representative for the Southern Mediterranean Region, is currently visiting Tunis at the head of a delegation. According to local press agency TAP the purpose of the visit is to identify practical ways to use the aid promised to the country and to help generate investment.
Leon “underlined Europe's desire to further consolidate cooperation with Tunisia”, the agency reported. TAP also said that Leon met Finance Minister Houcine Dimassi, who made it clear that Tunisia's current economic position was difficult.
The European delegation was seeking to “identify new forms of cooperation which suit the country's present position, given that the proposal for a complementary finance act, currently being drawn up, will allow the country's strategic guidelines to be developed”, the TAP agency adds. (FB/transl.rt)
