Strasbourg, 18/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - ALDE Group MEP Licia Ronzulli (Italy) called on new European Parliament President Martin Schulz to make a meeting with former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who has been sentenced to seven years in prison, his first official visit. Tymoshenko has suffered “a political lynching, a breach of human rights. The European Parliament must not stand idly by. We have to stop this before something terrible happens”, argued Ronzulli, who, like several of her colleagues, was dressed in a tee-shirt carrying the image of Tymoshenko and emblazoned with the words “Free Yulia”.
