09/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - EIB loan to support Barco's RDI activities. The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Barco, a global market leader in professional visualisation solutions, announced at the end of December the signature on a €50 million funding facility. The EIB sees funding research-development-innovation (RDI) projects as a key priority, and this loan was granted under the Risk Sharing Finance Facility (RSFF), an instrument to finance research, development and innovation (RDI) in member states of the EU. It will allow Barco to continue to invest in RDI and uphold its position as a leader in professional visualisation technology. The company will use the loan to fund RDI activities for networked visualisation connectivity and software in its Entertainment, Healthcare and Control Rooms divisions in its centres in Belgium, France and Germany, up to and including 2013.
