Brussels, 04/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced on Tuesday 3 January that the names of three agricultural and food products were to be added to the list of protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI). They are: “Salva Cremasco”, a cheese from Italy (PDO), “Mongeta del Ganxet”, a type of bean from Spain (PDO) and “Rheinisches Apfelkraut”, a fruit syrup from Germany (PGI). They will be added to the list of some 1,000 products already protected under legislation on protection of geographical indications, designations of origin and traditional specialities. (LC/transl.rt)
