21/12/2011 (Agence Europe) - United States challenges EU at WTO over Airbus aid. At a meeting of the Dispute Regulation Board (DSB) at the World Trade Organisation on 19 December, the EU said it had taken all the measures required to implement the decisions by the WTO on the United States' complaint about aid for the launch of European aircraft manufacturer company Airbus (DS 316), a ruling issued on 30 June 2010 (see EUROPE 10172), partially confirmed by the appeals body on 19 May 2011 (see EUROPE 10382). The EU submitted its planned action to the WTO on 1 December, but it was challenged on Monday by the United States. The EU has requested talks with the US to settle the dispute. (EH/transl.fl)
