27/10/2011 (Agence Europe) - Tech Data acquires computer-aided design software distribution business of Mensch und Maschine. On Thursday 27 October, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of the value added distribution (VAD) business of Mensch und Maschine Software (MuM) by Tech Data Europe, a wholesaler of IT, consumer electronics and telecommunication products. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not raise competition problems, because the parties have only moderate market shares and will continue to face a sufficient number of competitors in all markets concerned. The Commission assessed the impact of the proposed transaction on the wholesale distribution markets of consumer electronics, IT and software products in Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Poland.
