26/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Triton/Compo. On Monday 26 September, the European Commission gave authorisation to the acquisition of German plant health products company Compo (nutrition, plant protection and maintenance and phytopharmaceuticals) by Jersey-based Triton capital investment fund. Triton does not yet own any shares in the phytosantitary industry, but one of its funds controls the Schirm company, which offers sub-contracting in the non-agricultural phytosanitary product industry. The Commission examined how the deal, notified on 22 August this year, would affect competition in the industry and concluded that it would not eliminate competitors from either the phytosanitary or the sub-contracting market.
