Brussels, 01/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - The Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Warsaw on 29 and 30 September is expected to provide an opportunity to give clear prospects regarding accession by Moldova to the EU, said Iuria Leanca, Moldovan Foreign Minister, speaking on Thursday 1st September. Despite the wish expressed by the Polish Presidency to enhance cooperation between the states to the east of its borders and those of the South Caucasus, the Eastern Partnership is a framework of relations that does not necessarily include EU membership but simply allows cooperation to be deepened, without there being a foregone conclusion of the outcome or limitations. In addition to this clear picture of the outlook, Leanca trusts that a final summit statement will include a better proposal to the eastern partners, with support for political and economic reform, the setting in place of scientific and educational programmes, and a visa policy, AFP reports.
