Brussels, 01/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 1st September, the European Commission cleared the proposed concentration by VFE Commerce and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation (CDC). The joint venture will combine tourism offers, including small-scale residential tourism projects in France. VFE, which is controlled by SNCF, the French Railways, is active in rail passenger and freight transport services and management of the French railway infrastructure. CDC's activities focus on tasks of general interest consisting of (i) managing private funds for which public authorities wish to provide special protection, and (ii) lending or investing in activities for the public interest.
