20/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - €70 million for urban areas and energy efficiency in Sardinia. The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the region of Sardinia, on Wednesday 20 July, announced the creation of a €70 million JESSICA holding fund to finance projects on this Italian island. €35 million will go to urban refurbishment in the main towns of the province of Sardinia. The remaining €35 million will be put to the “Sardegna CO2.0” project which seeks to improve energy efficiency throughout the region through funding integrated community projects which also provide for renewable energy production.
