According to initial estimates published by Eurostat for May 2011, the eurozone's trade with the rest of the world was in equilibrium, compared with a trade deficit of €4.9 billion in May 2010. The April 2011 eurozone trade deficit was €4.8 billion, compared with - €0.8 billion in April 2010. In May 2011 compared with April 2011, seasonally adjusted exports rose by 1.5% and imports by 0.2%. The initial estimate for the EU27's trade balance with the rest of the world in May 2011 is €13.2 billion deficit, compared with - €16.0 billion in May 2010. In April 2011 the deficit stood at €16.4 billion, compared with a deficit of €12.0 billion in April 2010.
