Investor compensation up to €100,000 is rejected

Brussels, 06/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - MEPs did not adopt the recommendation by the relevant parliamentary committee to increase investor compensation for default to €100,000, for funds covered by Directive 97/9/EC (see EUROPE 10179). They are keeping to the initial European Commission proposal to raise the level of compensation from €20,000 to €50,000.
