On Tuesday 5 July, the European Parliament approved aid of €20.4 million in favour of 1,775 workers made redundant in Denmark by two companies, LM Glasfiber and Odense Steel Shipyard. The EP's approval of this aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund marks the final stage in the process (the Council approved the aid on 30 May of this year). Denmark called for permission to mobilise this fund to the tune of €6,247,415 for workers made redundant by LM Glasfiber and €14,181,901 for the former workers of Odense Steel Shipyard.
