On Wednesday 1 June 2011, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition by OJSC Novolipetsk Steel of sole control of Steel Invest & Finance S.A. Of Luxembourg, which manufactures and sells carbon steel semi-finished and finished flat products, currently owned by Novolipetsk Steel and Duferco Participations Holding S.A.
