Eurozone GDP up 0.33% in final quarter of 2010

Brussels, 16/02/2011 (Agence Europe) - In the final quarter of 2010, GDP in the eurozone rose by 0.3% and in the EU27 by 0.2% on the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat published on Tuesday 15 February. In Q310, eurozone growth stood at 0.3% and EU27 growth at 0.5%. Compared with the third quarter of 2009, seasonally-corrected GDP was up 2.0% in the eurozone and 2.1% in the EU27 in Q410, compared with 1.9% and 2.2% in the prevision quarter. In the final quarter of 2010, GDP rose by 0.8% in the United States on Q310 (following a 0.6% rise in Q310) and GDP in Japan fell by 0.3% (after a 0.8% rise). Compared with the same quarter of the year before, GDP rose in the United States by 2.8% (+3.2% in the previous quarter) and GDP rose in Japan by 2.6% (following +4.7%). Taking 2010 as a whole, GDP rose in both the eurozone and the EU27 by 1.7%.
