Brussels, 07/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 6 January, Head of the European Diplomatic Corps Catherine Ashton appointed Nicholas Westcott as Managing Director for Africa in the new European External Action Service (EEAS). This appointment means that the United Kingdom will be well represented in the new institution.
“Together with the appointments I have already announced, I am confident that the top team of the new service reflects the best possible balance of talent and experience to meet the challenges we face,” Ashton said in a press release. Westcott is currently British High Commissioner to Ghana and non-resident Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger and Togo. (A.By./transl.rt)
