Brussels, 07/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - Urgent protection measures were taken during the night of Thursday 6-7 January by the European Commission after a wild boar, shot by hunters at the end of 2010 in Bulgaria, tested positive to foot-and-mouth disease.
The Commission's decision defines the high risk area (the province of Burgas close to the border with Turkey) and low risk areas (the surrounding provinces of Yambol, Sliven, Shumen and Varna). The dispatch of live animals (e.g. pigs,...
