Brussels, 29/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - Eleven people with links to the radical Islamist movement and suspected of having plotted an attack were arrested in Antwerp, Belgium and in Germany and the Netherlands on 23 November, according to the European judicial cooperation agency, Eurojust. The 11 suspects were of Belgian, Dutch, Moroccan and Chechen nationality. The initial findings of the investigation revealed that an international terrorist group was planning an attack and was using the extremist website Ansar Al Mujahideen to collect money to fund it. The second plank of the investigation focused on the recruiters, jihadist candidates and the financing of a Chechen terrorist cell. Over the course of the investigations, which were carried out in collaboration with a number of countries and Eurojust, a number of people were also arrested in Spain, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
