Rasmussen invites Martens to leaders' debate

Brussels, 21/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - Party of European Socialists (PES) leader Poul Nyrup Rasmussen has invited the leader of the European People's Party (EPP), Wilfried Martens, to a public debate on how democratic parties should react to the rise of extreme right-wing racist and xenophobic movements in Europe. Contention is rising between the PES and the EPP: Agence Europe will return to this issue. (Gp/transl.rt)
