Karel De Gucht hoping for agreement with Mercosur in 2011

Brussels, 15/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - At the end of the meeting with Brazilian ministers Celso Amorim (foreign affairs) and Miguel Jorge (industry) on Tuesday 14 September in Brasilia, Karel De Gucht expressed hope that in May 2011, a bilateral free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, Venezuela is currently in the process of joining) could be reached, despite France's tough line on the agriculture question.
