Brussels, 09/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - The conference on social security and pensions, organised on 6-8 September in Liège, by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, underlined the need to guarantee all European citizens adequate and economically sustainable social protection. The participants debated the central and positive role of social protection in the European socio-economic model, especially during crisis periods.
