27/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Management Board of the European External Border Co-Operation Agency (Frontex) has requested that the agency be given greater independence in collecting, storing and exchanging personal data. “From a strategic perspective, processing personal data will be crucial for Frontex. Already, within the current mandate, the effectiveness could be increased by enriching intelligence and intelligence products with personal data. Furthermore, operational/administrative tasks could be conducted in a more effective way by processing national information in a centralised system”, explains an analysis paper from the Frontex Management Board.
