Brussels, 23/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - Meeting on Monday 26 July at the General Affairs Council under the chairmanship of their Belgian counterpart, Steven Vanackere, EU foreign ministers will be looking at five items on the agenda, namely: - formal adoption of the basic decision on creation of the European External Action Service (EEAS) on the basis of the Madrid agreement of 21 June, which has also been endorsed by the EP and Commission; - adoption of the negotiating framework for membership talks with Iceland to be launched on Tuesday 27 July (EUROPE 10186); - preparation of the extraordinary European Council of 16 September devoted to EU relations with its strategic partners; - follow-up of the European Council in June; - and presentation of the Belgian Presidency's priorities.
