Brussels, 23/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - Three establishments operating in the energy industry in the Mediterranean, MED-ENEC, MED-EMIP and RCREEE (the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency) are organising an energy efficiency workshop in Tunis, Tunisia on 26 and 27 July 2010 followed by the LAS (League of Arab States) “Arab EE Directive Working Group” meeting on 28 and 29 July.
The meeting will examine the criteria for setting up regional coordination of energy efficiency policies and the workshop on the following two days will initiate the process of preparing three year National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs) according to the drafted Arab EE directive. It is also planned to present and learn from the regional and European experiences relating to the coordination, benchmarking and follow up of such coordinated regional efforts as well as the planning and implementation of the NEEAP on the national levels in Arab countries.
