Discharge granted to Council's implementation of its 2008 budget

Brussels, 19/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 19 May 2010, the European Parliament decided to grant discharge to the Council Secretary General for implementation of the Council's budget for 2008. A fortnight ago, the EP decided to postpone the vote while awaiting the outcome of high levels talks on the issue convened by the President of the EP, Jerzy Buzek, and the Spanish prime minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
