Commission ratchets up pressure on member states infringing European legislation

Brussels, 06/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - An avalanche of infringement procedures will descent on EU member states that are failing to respect European environmental legislation. The European Commission made this announcement on Wednesday 5 May. The nature of the infringements committed and the stages of the ongoing procedures are as follow:
