Commission may ask court to fine Ireland for failing to carry out Court decision

Brussels, 06/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - Ireland may be fined if it continues failing to respect European legislation on evaluating the impact of certain public and private projects on the environment (directive 85/337/EC modified by directive 97/11/EEC on 3 March 1997), which make prior impact evaluation obligatory before authorising projects that are likely to have a significant environmental impact.
