Greenpeace calls on Spain to protect traditional, small-scale fishermen rather than providing aid for industrial-scale fishing

Brussels, 03/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - Spain, the EU's biggest fishing nation, has encouraged the development of industrial fishing fleets that trawl the world's oceans, stripping the sea of fish, to the detriment of traditional sea fishing, explains Greenpeace in a report published on Monday 3 May in La Coruna, on the fringes of the EU conference on reform of the common fisheries policy (CFP) (see related article).
