30/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - “L'Épopée Jeunes Européens” - it is under this title that over 400 young people from the 27 EU member states will go to Lorraine (north-east of France) on 5, 6 and 7 May. On 8 May, after having stopped off in several commemorative sites on nine itineraries leading to the House of Robert Schuman, located in Scy-Chazelles (Moselle), they will reflect on the future of Europe in four forums organised by European political figures. On 9 May, the young participants will present the conclusions of their work before Jacques Delors, the former European Commission president. The idea of holding this gathering to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration inspired by Jean Monnet had been launched in 2008 by Paul Collowald, who presides over the Robert Schuman Association.
