EMCS monitoring and control system to be in service on 1 April to cover movements of products liable to excise

Brussels, 01/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - The electronic Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) of products subject to excise (alcohol, tobacco and energy products) is operational as of Thursday 1 April (EUROPE 9805); Implementation will be gradual: - on 1 April, the companies of 19 member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden) may present...
