18/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 17 March, the European Commission granted clearance to an operation whereby Japanese companies Mitsubishi Corporation, JGC Corporation and Ebara Corporation will acquire joint control of Ebara Engineering Service Co. Ltd also of Japan. The business activities of the firms are: - Mitsubishi: a conglomerate active worldwide in many sectors including energy, metals, machinery, chemicals, good and general merchandise; - JGC Corporation: design, construction and operation of industrial plants and refineries; - Ebara Corporation: - fluid transfer machinery, environmental facilities and related equipment and precision machinery for the semiconductor industry; - and Ebara Engineering Service Co. Ltd: design, construction and operation of water treatment facilities and the provision of related services. (O.L./transl.rt)
