03/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 1 March, the management committee of the European Patent Organisation (EPO) elected Benoît Battistelli from France to the presidency of the EPO as from 1 July 2010 for a mandate of five years. Other rivals to the current director of the French Institute of Industrial Property for the position included the director of the Swedish Patents Office, Ms Ås Sivborg, and the Director of the Swiss Institute of Intellectual Property Mr Grossenbacher.
