Brussels, 02/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - It came as no surprise but greatly disappointed the adversaries of GMOs when the European Commission unanimously decided, on Tuesday 2 March, to authorise the cultivation in the EU of a GMO that has been awaiting authorisation since 2003 and that is particularly controversial - the Amflora, a genetically modified potato by BASF.
This reactivation of the process of authorisation for GMO cultivation - which had remained a dead letter for 12 years...
