18/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 18 February, the European Commission granted clearance to the proposed creation of a joint venture between EnBW Kraftwerke AG and Evonik Power Minerals GmbH, both of Germany. The joint venture will be active in the trade of fly ash (one of the residues generate by the combustion of coal) and gypsum (a very soft mineral composed of calcium sulphate dehydrate). The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (O.L./transl.rt)
