05/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 5 February, the European Commission announced having authorised changes made to the Dutch short-term export credit insurance scheme. The fist version of this aid scheme, aimed at supporting exporters by competing insurance cover available on the private market, had been approved on 2 October 2009. The Commission takes the view that the modified scheme is in line with the legislation in the context of the current economic and financial crisis. In particular, the scope of coverage provided and the premiums required are of a kind that stimulates exports while minimising competition distortion. (L.C./transl.jl)
