ACEA reports slight increase in demand for new cars in second half of 2009

Brussels, 22/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - According to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), new car registrations in Europe fell by 1.6% in 2009 compared with the previous year, despite the pick up in demand observed in the second half of the year. In December, the number of new car registrations was up 16% on December 2008, and stood at 1,074,438 units across the ACEA countries.
