Brussels, 11/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - The calls for assistance from Albania, which has been hit by several days of severe flooding following exceptional rainfall and melting snows in the north of the country, have been heeded by several EU member states. Slovenia, Austria, Greece, France and Italy will all provide help through the Community civil protection mechanism, which operates both inside and beyond EU borders.
