Unemployment reaches 10% in eurozone in November 2009 - 9.5% in EU as a whole

Brussels, 08/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - The eurozone unemployment rate was 10.0% in November 2009, compared to 9.9% in October and 8.0% in November 2008. In the EU27, the rate of unemployment rose to 9.5% in November 2009 compared to 9.4% in October and 7.5% for the same period of 2008. This rate is the highest in the eurozone since 1998 and in the EU27 since January 2000, data published by Eurostat on Friday 8 January confirm.
