Suspension of other chapters in accession talks would destroy Turkey's motivation to join EU, says Egemen Bagis

Brussels, 03/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - Ankara has warned the EU that, if it takes additional sanctions against Turkey as part of membership talks - as the Cypriot government explicitly requests - then this could deal a “fatal blow” to Turkey's desire to join the Union. “Any additional sanction will kill the motivation of my nation for the EU”, said Egemen Baìiº, Turkey's Foreign Minister and the negotiator-in-chief for membership, speaking on Thursday 3 December at the European...
