Gordon Brown moots idea at G20 of taxing financial transactions - No agreement on how to fund the fight against climate change

Brussels, 09/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Scotland on Saturday, G20 finance ministers were unable to overcome their differences on the thorny issue of how to finance the fight against climate change. The UK will suggest that key countries hold an emergency meeting to discuss this ahead of the United Nations conference on climate change in Copenhagen on 7-18 December (see EUROPE 10014).
